            SANSKRIT:  Alphabets – single and compound words – meanings – Reading and writing practice – slokas of various moorthy, reciting fluently.

 

            DRAWING:  Practice drawing of Hastham – hand, leg, foot, flowers, Padmam, Lotus feet, Peedam etc; draw figures of animals, vahanams etc; draw idols in full length will proper dimension – size, height etc.,

            ICON ART (Practical):  Study on the quality and use of plastering sand and its preparation; mixing of cow – dung  wet soil and sand in proper proportion ; preparing waist level images gods / goddesses.

            DRAWING:  Practice drawing of Images by seeing old ICON IDOLS; drawing of all images (gods & goddesses) proper measurement.  Repeating the practice to attain perfection.

 

            ICON ART (Practical) :  Removing the wax carefully, heating – up The moulds Mixing of compound metals, melting them, moulding them, remove the Idol from the mould – dressing for proper shape & size; ornamentally dressing the Idol.

            WOOD CARVING (Practical) :  Selection of wood for making kedagam of proper size and measurement – car making from selection of wood to designing and carving out – Amalgamating  the cut and carved pieces to form fine shape – painting and polishing for elegant appearance.

 

 

 

 

SYLLABUS                FOURTH YEAR                                70 CREDITS

 

            SCULPTURE (SIRPAM) Theory:  Detailed study of Temple Car – sizes – dimensions Detailed study of Temple car – sizes – dimensions of height, breadth etc – parts of car – wheel base, peedam etc – their size and measurements;  ornamental cloth screens ( paduthas) on tour four sides of car – aesthetic appeal.

 

            SANSKRIT : Complete study of various slokas on car making – size and proper measurements – running them on rood safely.

 

            DRAWING:  Drawing the CARS in different dimensions no: of wooden status – drawing full images and decorating the status – comparing the drawing CARS in nearly Temples.

 

            WOOD CARVING (Practical):  Selecting the wood on the basis of measurements – carving and making parts of the CAR like wheels, base, Peedam etc individually – Amalgamating the different parts into full shape, varnish & paint to give divine look.

 

Note:  1 Credit = 15 hours of work :  More emphasis is laid on hands – on work (Practical aspect )
